What are the facts? We have little reason to believe that McCain will bring them back. McCain is still having a hard time aligning the 'rank and file' members of his party. As a strategy to avoid talking about issues, McCain will play the 'culture' card. The last thing Sen. McCain wants is for middle of the road voters to realize he agrees with Bush on everything. He cannot sell himself as another Bush, and debating issues - at all- will do exactly that. McCain wants to stay as far away from debating issues as he can. He'll do this by trying to divert the attention to Obama's background and lifestyle. The only question is, "Is America Ready for a Black President?" I think we are. I think McCain has under estimated Obama's retail politics skills or the power of baby chickens. Below you will find a new MoveOn.org ad that is airing on MTV and Comedy Central, I can't do anything but shake my head. I love dry humor, puns, and other 'off the beaten path' stuff; but this thing is just lame. Period. If I was a superficial voter, I'd vote for McCain out of spite for this ad. It does, however, illustrate the Obama campain perfectly. They are selling an abstract idea, "hope." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3ONGkXONQ4 This makes me want to start a collection of campaign videos. The really 'out there' videos that make your skin crawl. We can make a top 10 list of the most ridiculous campaign videos ever. If nothing else, we'll get to make fun of old candidates, and that ALWAYS starts some great debates! http://blogs.wsj.com/politicalperceptions/...still-room-for-a-landslide/
